Beer Raucous

With

Scut Farkus

1) Alpine “Captain Stout”

American Stout…5.5% ABV….Alpine Beer Company…Alpine, CA

A chocolate oatmeal dry stout.  Roasty malt character that has hints of chocolate and coffee which balances the smooth, velvety finish. The thick, creamy head lasts and lasts, leaving lace in your glass as your beer disappears.

2) Caracole “Saxo”

Belgian Strong Pale Ale…8.0% ABV; Brasserie Caracole; Belgium

SAXO is a very complex artisanal Wallonian blond ale with an unusual hoppiness, bitterness and a touch of spice. Bizzare grainy punch of taste preceding hops and waves of flavors whizzing over the tongue.

3) Affligem Tripel

Tripel9.5% ABV….Brouwerij Affligem…Belgium

From a brewery that has been brewing for ages and sticks to a traditional recipe, while utilizing modern techniques.  Rich golden in color with notes of ripe fruit and figs on the nose.  Spicy with a pleasant bitterness.  Strong in alcohol with a smoothness that you would never expect.

4) Telegraph Winter Ale

Winter Warmer …7.1% ABV…Telegraph Brewing Co…Santa Barbara, CA

Inspired by Mexican hot chocolate, this ale warms even the coldest of nights with its hints of cinnamon, allspice, and sweet ancho chilies. Using generous amounts of chocolate and caramel malts, we brew this beer in limited quantities as a special treat for our friends and families and to celebrate the holidays. Be sure to enjoy it cool, rather than cold, to fully appreciate its complexity.

5) Clos Normand Brut

Cidrerie Duche de Longueville, France…French Apple Cider…4.0% ABV

The Clos Normand range of ciders is made in the heart of the Normandy region from the choicest apples. This cider owes its rich, full flavor to the quality of the fruit used as well as the cider-making process. The result is a subtle alliance of the trademark sweet and sour taste.
