The event idea is simple…yet novel, nonetheless. Delicious food and fine wine are timeless friends. As an avante-garde catering and event team, Eleat Cravings decided to become friends with LA’s top premier wine bar, 55 Degree Wine. Irene Yegiazarian, Chef Du Cuisine of Eleat Cravings, is particularly excited for what the brunch means for LA food and wine enthusiasts. “The idea is really taking food and wine pairing in LA to an ultimate level,” says Yegiazarian. “What better way to bring the worlds of food and wine together than having the city’s top wine lounge pair up with an up and coming event/catering company?” “Los Angeles isn’t exactly wine country,” adds Hovik Harutyunyan, Eleat Cravings Event Designer. “Most LA restaurants provide wine merely as a complimentary good to food sales. And symmetrically handicapped are LA’s wine lounges, which rarely offer food options, aside from the typical cheese and crackers. And there’s the issue of cost. It’s not impossible to simultaneously find high-value food and wine in LA’s dining scene. But, with that, come the high prices.” With LA’s current cheapest wine tasting charging $60 a head, the brunch’s $35-45 price range for 5 refillable glasses of wine, each paired with a gourmet food recipe is sure to delight food and wine lovers all throughout LA. “We’re trying to bring the taste and experience of country vineyards right here into LA’s backyard,” explains Amy Yegiazarian, Eleat Cravings Sous Chef/Baker. “And the best part is we’re bringing it without the country vineyard price tag.” Due to the success of the event, a November Sunday date is already in the talks. The culinary tag team anticipates the second collaboration to be an even bigger hit with attendees. “It’s almost November, which means holiday season,” continues Amy. “Food is a big part of the holidays. I think we’re going to try to offer people a nice and hip new way to celebrate the holidays with their families and friends.” “Possibly through a Thanksgiving-themed menu so it’s like a Thanksgiving food and wine tasting. 55 has a world-class selection of wine and we make delicious, seasonal, and healthy food. The possibilities are endless for us.”
